A unique trip to one of the most special spots in the Wadden Sea: Noordpolderzijl. This small tidal harbour on the Groningen coast is only accessible during spring tides. On Saturday, September 12, we depart from Lauwersoog as early as 8:00 AM and set course for the eastern Wadden.
A guide from the Wadden Association will accompany you on board. Upon arrival in Noordpolderzijl, he will take you into the polder for a walk and a fascinating lecture about this special landscape, the nature, and the history of the area. Please bring mudflat walking shoes and a small towel, as it can be quite muddy along the way. The trip lasts until approximately 5:00 PM.
You can choose to join only this day trip. Including lunch, this excursion costs €133 per person. From Usquert, you can then take the bus back to Lauwersoog, or you can bring your own bicycle on board (€16 per bicycle) and make it a beautiful trip along the Wadden coast.
Those who do not wish to go home yet can remain on board for the second part of this special journey. Around 11:00 PM, the Willem Jacob sails out of the harbor again with the rising tide. On the Wadden Sea, we drop anchor and spend the night in the silence of the Wadden Sea.
The following morning, a special excursion on the exposed mudflats begins even before sunrise, guided by our Wadden Sea guide. As the sun rises above the horizon around 7:00 AM, beautiful photo opportunities arise in a landscape that changes every hour. A unique experience for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone who truly wants to experience the Wadden Sea.
After breakfast at 8:00 AM, the Willem Jacob lifts off the seabed and we sail back towards Lauwersoog. We pass through the lock and reach the harbor near restaurant Het Booze Wijf around 4:00 PM.
