Nightly Dry Fall Tour Schiermonnikoog

It is wonderful to spend the night at sea! And also to run aground. Depending on the tide, this is at night or early in the morning. Then you can see up close what lives and moves in and under the sand.

An overnight stay on Schiermonnikoog is different from the other Wadden Islands. The harbour of Schiermonnikoog has a threshold that charter ships can only cross at high tide. Because the sailing ferry service also wants to leave on time, Eilandhopper ships are allowed to use the Veerdam. However, we are not allowed to stay there.

So we bring and pick up our guests via the ferry dam, but then look for a quiet spot to anchor at sea for the night. And that is a very nice experience. The night is darker at sea than on land with the chance of seeing many more stars.

The next day we pick up new guests, whom we take with us and bring to Lauwersoog.

Ask the skipper on site for the times of pick-up and drop-off. Lunch is included in the price for the nightly Droogvaltochten that end at 14:00.
